My new korean skincare routine

"Travel is more than seeing the world; it’s seeing the world in a new way."

I have had some amazing experience travelling. Some expected , some unexpected . Korea was one such unexpected experience and a total pleasent one to that. I simply loved the experience . Right from food to shopping everything was superlative. Shopping especially was mind blowing , I am not much of a shopaholic but there was something in the air that even I couldn't resist.

We stayed in Lotte Hotel in myendong area which a Mecca for beauty shopping.

Myeondyong - Seoul - The Beauty street

I had no idea about korean beauty industry before landing in Seoul. Infact in general i was not much into beauty and or skincare , my skincare routine till date was face wash and apply simple cream in morning, and the days I felt extra greasy I washed my face at night .

But landing in seoul opened my eyes to a different world, a world of hi tech beauty care. A world so complex and fascinating , a world of mind boggling 10 + beauty care steps !! It was just everywhere and when i realized every single person in seoul had amazing beautiful soft skin i fell for it too.

While I still have not got into that kind of elaborate routine , but have definitely expanded myself beyond clean and cream routine . My medicine cabinet looks something like this today. I clean , tone , moisturise and apply eye cream on daily basis and on a good day either scrub or apply a water pack.

Just a bit of care and trust me my skin never looked so good . So for all of you out there who dream of having flawless skin , give korean beauty care a chance. Ofcorse good food and healthy lifestyle has a huge role in how you look and feel but a little help from these 'miracle bottles' never hurts :)

Spa Review - Four fountains de stress spa

Of all the guilty pleasures of modern life , there is nothing i enjoy more than the pleasure of good spa. So when Maithili from Four Fountai ns De-Stress Spa in Bangalore reached out to me for a session , i ofcorse was delighted with the opportunity. Four fountain De stress spa is a national chain with  they have 6 operational centers and the Sarjapur one is walking distance from home :) :)

Okay so first up, the spa is located right on the outer ring road so definitely very easy to locate. However  i was not too impressed with the fact that's on first floor with some car spare part / garage type of shops on ground floor,  but once insider the Spa facility it transforms itself a soothing place with dim lights and right relaxing fragrances, just how a spa should be.

Once inside, you are asked to share some details about your lifestyle and little bit of medical history basis which the therapists decide what sort of treatment would suit you best. Very professional !!

Packages are for housewives, Car commuters, Travelers etc etc , basically depending on what your body might be going through on day today basis and consequently what kind of massage will suit you best. One can obviously chose out from their range of services on offer.

I was recommended to go for a deep tissue massage and a facial and i can assure you those two hours was very very relaxing my therapist , Nirmala (I think, I am really bad with names), made sure i was comfortable and the massage and facial was great.

The best part was the foot massage she gave after she applied face pack in facial, which was first in my experience and total bliss.

All in all i really liked the place and would surely recommend checking it out. Although my massages were complimentary in general the prices are more reasonable than other places and you have all sorts of membership programs & weekdays offer that make visiting this completely worthwhile.

Quick Beauty tip - Hair Serum

Looking for a good hair serum ?

Well, its sitting in your kitchen..our good old Ghee (clarified butter).

Mix half a tablespoon of ghee in your regular hair oil (2-3 tbs), warm it (for winters when everything solidifies) and apply in your hair.

Leave it for 2-3 hours or preferably overnight

Wash your hair as you would normally.

Try it for couple of weeks, you will definitely notice a big difference in your hair.

P.S. Ghee as hair oil or serum has been used not only in India (mostly north, punjab) for decades but also in countries like Ethopia  , esp works for soft wavy / curly  hair
